Job summary

R+L Global Logistics is seeking a Supply Chain Consultant to cultivate and maintain relationships with existing customers and to acquire and develop larger accounts. You will create strategy and develop supply chain solutions to meet customers’ business needs, delivering unmatched service.

Key responsibilities include acquiring new business, developing accounts, presenting services, and coordinating with Capacity Procurement to service loads.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ working knowledge in logistics and transportation industry.
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent education plus work experience.
• Strong team-building and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust.
• Ability to thrive in a fast paced and complex environment under pressure.
• Experience in multiple modes: dry van, expedited, flatbed, refrigerated, intermodal preferred.
• Proficiency with freight management software is a plus (McLeod, Cargowise).

Responsibilities

• Acquire and develop new business.
• Cultivate relationships with existing customers to develop accounts.
• Create and drive a business plan strategy that successfully meets sales goals.
• Maintain a working knowledge of the company's specialty services, internal resources, competitive strategies, and customer requirements.
• Present full range of services to existing and new customers, building a complete logistics and supply chain solution.
• Build strong customer relationships and understand trends to develop solutions.
• Prepare quotes for new and existing business partners to meet monthly and quarterly goals.
• Work with Capacity Procurement to ensure loads are serviced to meet expectations.
• Communicate with Capacity team and carriers about any issues.
• Conduct quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with existing customers.
• Conduct face-to-face meetings to build relationships and introduce additional services.
