Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA Inc is seeking a Supply Chain Buyer in Mount Pleasant, PA to manage end-to-end purchasing, maintain material flow and support operational performance across our manufacturing organization.

You will oversee POs, monitor supplier commitments, resolve shortages, collaborate with planning and manufacturing, keep ERP data up to date, and drive procurement improvements to boost efficiency and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Procurement, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, buying, or supply chain roles.
• Experience managing purchase orders and supplier relationships in a manufacturing or operations environment.
• Proficiency with procurement and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
• Solid understanding of supply chain, inventory management, and purchasing principles.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end purchase orders from creation to closure.
• Monitor supplier commitments and follow up on open orders for on-time delivery.
• Manage shortages and material escalations to support production.
• Collaborate with suppliers to resolve delivery, quantity, invoicing, and quality issues.
• Maintain purchasing data in ERP systems, including lead times and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate with Planning/Manufacturing to prioritize material needs and mitigate risks.
• Monitor supplier performance on-time delivery and responsiveness.
• Support inventory optimization by balancing availability and stock levels.
• Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes and supplier communication.
