Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking a Project Leader within the Sigma Operations Group to guide moderately to highly complex projects through lifecycle, coordinating with program offices, technical teams, and stakeholders to deliver on time and within budget.

The role emphasizes establishing deliverables, budgets, and schedules, mentoring junior staff, and reporting progress to program management while maintaining strong communication across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5 years related experience.
• Ability to report on project status to multiple stakeholders.
• Strong relationship-building with vendors and cross-functional teams.
• Excellent customer service and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary interface between project scientists, program and line management to establish technical requirements and deliverables.
• Manage complex projects ensuring scope, schedules, and budgets defined in project work packages.
• Interface with program office to develop work packages and out-year budgets.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to performance evaluations.
• Identify and manage project procurement needs.
• Communicate and document changes during project lifecycle.
