Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is seeking a Project Leader 2 to serve as a key member of the Sigma Operations Group. The role involves coordinating with division management, technical teams, and program offices to ensure projects progress through lifecycle with clear deliverables, budgets, and schedules.

Qualifications

• Experience in project management of technical or operational work and developing project plans/work packages.
• Ability to report on project status to multiple internal orgs, external vendors, subcontractors, or customers.
• Ability to build productive relationships with vendors, customers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong interpersonal skills delivering professional customer service at all levels.
• Experience planning, organizing, leading, and monitoring team efforts to completion.
• Experience identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks, issues, and conflicts.
• Ability to obtain a Q clearance, which normally requires U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary interface between project scientists, program, and line management to establish requirements, deliverables, budgets, and schedules.
• Manage moderately to highly complex projects ensuring deliverables meet scope, schedule, and budget.
• Interface with program office and line management to develop and negotiate work packages and budgets.
• Identify and manage procurement needs for projects.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to performance evaluations.
