Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory seeks an experienced Project-Program Director to lead a complex, multi-project portfolio ensuring safe and compliant execution, and strategic alignment with laboratory goals.

You will partner with executive-level customers to define scopes, schedules, budgets, and milestones, while mentoring senior staff and driving cross-functional collaboration across multiple organizations.

Qualifications

• Advanced, expert-level knowledge of program or project management, including scope, schedules, budgets, priorities, and milestones.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary, technically complex portfolios across organizations.
• Ability to develop and execute strategic program directions and relationships with executive-level customers.
• Familiarity with governmental regulations related to technical/operational portfolios.
• Proven leadership, supervision, and staff development in a large organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead portfolio management for a large, complex set of projects.
• Interface with executive-level customers to define work scope, schedules, budgets, and milestones.
• Direct planning and execution of program/project plans with multi-organizational integration.
• Ensure safety, security, environmental compliance, quality, and contractor oversight.
• Mentor and develop senior staff and foster an inclusive work environment.
