Job summary

Emerson is seeking a procurement-related role that partners with a select group of suppliers to drive performance improvements and lean initiatives across operations. You will map value streams, analyze processes, and implement action plans to optimize lot sizes, stocking programs, and lead times.

The role requires strong cross-functional communication, the ability to engage with senior leadership, and travel up to 25% (including international). U.S. persons only may be considered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical, business, or related field (or 4 years of industry experience in lieu of degree).
• 5+ years in Purchasing, Materials, Engineering, Logistics or Manufacturing.
• Experience collaborating across Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Materials, and Supply/Demand management.
• Able to connect with senior leadership and cross-functional teams across boundaries.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%, including international travel.
• U.S. Persons only (citizens, permanent residents, or protected individuals).

Responsibilities

• Identify, analyze, and develop project plans, actions and metrics with a select group of suppliers.
• Perform value stream mapping with key suppliers.
• Use SIPOC or other Lean problem-solving techniques.
• Forecast consolidation and optimize lot size.
• Implement stocking programs and eliminate non-value add activities.
• Interact with suppliers on performance issues and with site materials management.
• Participate in planning for on-time delivery and lead time reduction.
• Assess supplier capabilities to meet business needs.
• Collaborate with SQE to resolve quality issues with targeted suppliers.
