Job summary

IMI plc is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer to advance supplier maturity and drive performance improvements in regulated markets. You will lead qualification programs and work with Quality, Engineering, and Procurement to shape strategic supplier partnerships.

Primarily remote with occasional onsite in Palmer, MA and ~20% travel to supplier sites, this high-impact role offers broad cross-functional exposure and influence on quality, cost, and lead times across IMI’s global supply chain.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing)
• Experience in Supplier Development or Supplier Quality in manufacturing, regulated industries valued
• Proven experience delivering supplier improvement projects with measurable outcomes
• Experience with PPAP/APQP and industrial change processes
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Procurement, Quality, Engineering, and Operations

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier development programs and improve quality (SPPM) and delivery (OTIF)
• Design and execute supplier development roadmaps including on-site workshops
• Deploy the IMI Supplier Partnership program and track milestones and KPIs
• Lead supplier qualification activities end-to-end (PPAP/APQP)
• Conduct supplier audits and assessments of quality systems and capabilities
• Embed preventive quality practices and lean methods across the supply base
• Collaborate with Operations, Procurement, and Engineering on cost and lead-time improvements
