Job summary

IMI plc, a global engineering leader in fluid and motion control, is seeking a Global Procurement Specialist to lead the purchasing strategy for Life Science and other markets. The role is primarily remote with occasional on-site support at the Palmer, MA facility, and focuses on quality, cost and lead time.

You will manage supplier relationships, negotiate terms, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet demand.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business supply chain management or engineering.
• Global procurement and strategic sourcing experience.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Analytical mindset with data-driven decisions.
• Familiarity with ERP systems; IQMS a plus.
• Knowledge of international trade regulations and customs procedures.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, multicultural environment.

Responsibilities

• Define and deploy the purchasing strategy for assigned commodities.
• Identify, evaluate, and manage supplier relationships for timely, cost-effective procurement.
• Lead negotiations on pricing, terms, quality standards and delivery.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align requirements and timelines.
• Develop and implement risk mitigation to ensure continuity of supply.
• Work with QA to ensure purchased goods meet quality standards.
• Stay informed on market trends and supplier capabilities.
• Maintain records and report procurement activity to senior management.
