Job summary

Louisiana Special School District (SSD) in Baton Rouge seeks a visionary Superintendent to empower students with diverse needs and lead statewide efforts to improve instruction, access, and outcomes across the district. The SSD Board seeks a leader who can champion durable change and mobilize partners at state, local, and community levels.

The Superintendent will align academic strategy with high expectations, foster independence in students, and ensure fair, high-quality services across SSD

Qualifications

• Master's degree earned at a regionally accredited college or university.
• 5 years of leadership/management or governance experience as a superintendent or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Increase academic achievement by collaborating with senior instructional leaders.
• Refine SSD’s vision, mission and beliefs to create a statewide model of excellence.
• Develop an annual academic strategy with high expectations and measurable growth.
• Maintain a visible presence in schools, programs and the community.
• Develop partnerships with stakeholder agencies and lead hiring/retention planning.
