Job summary

The Louisiana Special School District is seeking an itinerant special education instructor for a full-time, 12-month role based at the Central Office for SSP in Baton Rouge. This position supports students across locations with a focus on inclusive, rigorous instructional experiences.

Responsibilities include planning comprehensive lessons, monitoring student progress, and aligning goals with the COMPASS rubric.

Qualifications

• Valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate required.
• Valid Out-of-State Teaching Certificate required.
• Alternative Certification Candidate may qualify with bachelor’s degree and enrollment in approved program.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and provide rigorous instructional experiences for students, incorporating academics, communication, vocational, motor, self-help and social skills to promote growth.
• Track student progress, reflect on practice, and adjust instruction to meet COMPASS rubric goals.
• Coordinate with Central Office for SSP and school sites to ensure student placement and program alignment.
