Job summary

You will negotiate terms, issue orders, monitor costs and inventory, and collaborate with operations, finance, and sales to meet organizational needs and quality standards.

Attention to detail, strong Excel and ERP experience, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
• 2+ years of purchasing or procurement experience.
• Experience within steel mills, service centers, manufacturing, or industrial distribution.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; ERP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate vendors based on price, quality, service, and reliability.
• Negotiate delivery and contract terms.
• Issue purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
• Monitor market conditions including material costs, industry trends, inventory levels and reorder supplies as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and technical data.
• Work closely with internal departments (e.g., operations, finance, and sales) to determine purchasing needs and specifications.
• Resolve issues related to delayed shipments, quality discrepancies, or supplier performance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement regulations.
