Job summary

ACI Building Systems, Inc. is seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead the Purchasing department, oversee sourcing of steel materials, manage a purchasing team, and drive performance in delivery, safety, quality, and inventory accuracy.

The role partners with Production, Engineering, and Estimating to align material availability with schedules, implements cost reductions, and builds supplier relationships to secure competitive pricing and reliable coverage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in supply chain, purchasing, finance, or accounting.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
• Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a purchasing team.
• Source plate, bar, and coil steel to support production schedules; ensure availability and quality.
• Establish KPIs for the department and report results; drive corrective action.
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities across sourcing and inventory management.
• Develop and maintain department standards, procedures, and best practices.
• Build strong supplier relationships and negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts.
• Coordinate with Production, Engineering, and Estimating to align material availability with timelines.
