Job summary

Steel Warehouse South Bend is seeking a Steel Purchasing Account Manager to ensure timely, accurate product delivery and exceptional supplier support. You will manage all order-related tasks for designated mills and coordinate with traffic for load pickup.

Responsibilities include PO processing, price verification, expediting, invoicing, and data analysis to improve supplier performance. A Bachelor's degree and steel industry experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field required.
• Experience in steel industry and supply chain management preferred.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a team and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of EDI standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Liaison between assigned suppliers and SW.
• Independently handles all order-related functions for assigned mills.
• Process purchase orders, verify ASTM/SAE, pricing, tons and delivery.
• Update order status; expedite, adjust or cancel orders.
• Coordinate with SW Traffic to arrange collect loads.
• Negotiate pricing on referral items and buybacks.
• Enter non-EDI test data and release non-EDI shipments.
• Coordinate with Mill Tech on steel defect claims and disposition.
• Invoice approval for non-EDI invoices and EDI exceptions.
• Diagnose supplier trends and summarize order management data.
• Suggest improvements to enhance supplier performance.
• Possibly audit ISO processes when needed.
• Provide coverage for buyers when unavailable.
