Job summary

Markent Personnel is assisting in recruiting an Account Manager/Sales Representative for a client in the Lordstown, OH area. The role centers on growing an established customer base while pursuing new business opportunities in the steel processing and distribution sector.

The candidate will own a portfolio, coordinate with internal teams, manage demand and pricing, and plan visits and presentations to clients. Strong communication, negotiation, and steel industry experience are valued.

Qualifications

• Must have strong relationship-building and sales account management experience.
• Experience in steel or metal processing industries is highly preferred.
• Ability to develop new customers while managing existing relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow relationships with an established base of customer accounts.
• Identify, pursue, and develop new customers and profitable business opportunities.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for customers and develop a strong understanding of their business, products, and ongoing requirements.
• Plan and conduct customer visits, sales calls, presentations, and commercial discussions.
• Negotiate pricing, volumes, terms, and other commercial considerations.
• Monitor customer requirements and coordinate inventory levels to support demand.
• Work collaboratively with purchasing, operations, and other internal teams to ensure customer expectations are met.
• Provide accurate sales forecasts and communicate changing customer and market conditions.
• Share relevant sales and purchasing intelligence with leadership and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor account performance with an emphasis on profitable, sustainable growth.
• Manage company resources and business expenses responsibly.
• Travel to customer locations and other business-related destinations as needed.
