Job summary

HCSC is seeking a Senior Procurement professional to lead strategic sourcing and category management for clinical platforms and healthcare technology solutions in a hybrid role. You will partner with clinical teams, IT leaders, and suppliers to align procurement with medical cost, quality outcomes, and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in procurement, strong executive presence, and expect to drive cost reduction while ensuring supplier performance and risk management

This role leads strategic sourcing and category management for clinical platforms and healthcare technology solutions. Candidates should bring a strong understanding of the healthcare payer clinical ecosystem and how health plans operate, including the relationship between procurement decisions, medical cost management, quality outcomes, member and provider experience, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is comfortable evaluating and discussing SaaS solutions, platform architecture, API integrations, interoperability, data platforms, and other technology-enabled healthcare services while partnering with business stakeholders, clinical teams, IT leaders, and suppliers. This position will perform category management around the identification, development, and execution of sourcing and procurement strategies. Key areas of focus include needs analysis, sourcing options, supplier selection, negotiation support, contract oversight, cost reduction initiatives, supplier risk management, and business relationship management. The role is expected to provide thought leadership across complex spend categories, leveraging market intelligence, supplier roadmaps, and negotiation strategies to support business objectives and procurement outcomes. This position will also support requirements facilitation, contract drafting, negotiations, and supplier partnership development.

Required Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
• 8+ years progressive experience in procurement, supplier management, category management
• Proficient at MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Strategic and innovative thinker able to influence and advise the business areas
• Strong executive presence with outstanding interpersonal, verbal, written communication, and presentation skills

Preferred Job Qualifications:

• Understanding of Payor clinical ecosystem
• Comfortable discussing SAAS, platform architecture, API integrations, data platforms, etc.
• Understanding of how health plans operate and connect procurement decisions to medical cost, quality, member/provider experience and regulatory requirements
• Management or team supervisory experience
• Knowledge of e-Procurement systems and tools; experience utilizing Procure-to-Pay and Contracting modules or similar procurement systems
• MBA, Masters Degree

This is a Flex (Hybrid) role: 3 days in office; 2 days work from home.
