Job summary

Textron Specialized Vehicles is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to lead supplier cost reductions and optimize the supply base for materials and components. You will collaborate with finance, quality, and production teams to ensure timely supplier payments and seamless transitions between external and in-house manufacturing.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or related field (or equivalent experience) and 2+ years of relevant work, with SAP/ERP experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field required OR years of experience considered in lieu of degree.
• Years of Experience: 2+ years w/ degree OR 5+ years relevant experience w/o degree.
• Software Knowledge: Microsoft Office Suite, ERP system experience required; SAP and Teamscenter experience preferred
• Additional Requirements: Supply Chain Certificate through APICS or ISM preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead efforts to identify and implement supplier cost reductions.
• Assist in the selection and management of new and current suppliers.
• Perform make vs. buy analysis to determine optimal chain of supply for materials and suppliers.
• Support materials and quality teams to identify supplier delivery and quality issues.
• Source materials for new product launches and product model changes.
• Support the supplier transition process by allocating work from an external supplier to in house production or vice versa.
• Coordinate request for quote packages with supply base to ensure premium pricing for sourced materials.
• Collaborate with the finance and accounting departments to ensure suppliers are paid on time.
• Manage materials projects by using problem solving techniques, data from factory information systems, and lean manufacturing concepts.
