Job summary

Textron Specialized Vehicles is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to lead supplier cost reductions and manage supplier relationships for materials and launches. The role includes make vs.

buy analysis, supplier transitions, and coordinating RFP packages to secure favorable pricing. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience, 2+ years with degree or 5+ years without, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems; SAP and Teamscenter

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years with degree or 5+ years with no degree.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and ERP systems; SAP and Teamscenter preferred.
• Supply Chain Certificate through APICS or ISM preferred.
• Ability to understand and interpret technical illustrations and apply mathematical concepts preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead efforts to identify and implement supplier cost reductions.
• Assist in the selection and management of new and current suppliers.
• Perform make vs. buy analysis to determine optimal chain of supply for materials and suppliers.
• Support materials and quality teams to identify supplier delivery and quality issues.
• Source materials for new product launches and product model changes.
• Support the supplier transition process by allocating work from an external supplier to in house production or vice versa.
• Coordinate request for quote packages with supply base to ensure premium pricing for sourced materials.
• Collaborate with the finance and accounting departments to ensure suppliers are paid on time.
• Manage materials projects by using problem solving techniques, data from factory information systems, and lean manufacturing concepts.
