Job summary

Radiant, an El Segundo, CA-based startup building portable nuclear microreactors, seeks a proactive Strategic Sourcing Manager to lead discovery, qualification, and development of new suppliers and manufacturing technologies for our advanced program.

You'll partner with Engineering, SDEs, Quality, and Operations to build Radiant's supplier ecosystem from the ground up — onboarding, qualification, and transition to steady-state delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
• 3–8 years of experience in strategic sourcing, supplier development, or new product introduction in manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or energy sectors.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Strong track record of identifying and qualifying new suppliers for complex components.
• Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with supplier teams.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and standard office software.
• Willingness to travel to supplier locations (up to 20%–40%).

Responsibilities

• Proactively identify and research new potential suppliers and manufacturing technologies domestically and abroad.
• Translate engineering drawings and specifications into supplier search criteria matching part complexity and process needs.
• Lead initial supplier vetting, including capability assessments and risk screening.
• Own end-to-end onboarding, including NDA, capability review, and entry into approved supplier base.
• Research emerging manufacturing technologies that could unlock new sourcing pathways.
• Coordinate purchase orders, first articles, prototype builds, and pilot runs for new parts.
• Manage transition of qualified suppliers into steady-state delivery and on-time production.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with SDEs, Engineering, QA, and Procurement.
• Maintain market intelligence on supply trends and geopolitical risks affecting nuclear-grade materials.
• Support RCCA activities with suppliers to drive timely resolution.
