Job summary

Jabil, a global engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing solutions provider, is seeking a Technical Sourcing Manager in Austin, TX. This role focuses on supplier selection and part validation across design, NPI, and risk/cost reduction, leveraging Jabil’s tools and processes to ensure qualified components enter the supply base efficiently.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Supply Chain (or equivalent) with eight+ years of relevant experience.
• Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for BOM pricing as it evolves through each design and mass production milestone.
• Responsible for resolving cost differences and addressing supply chain impacts due to BOM changes, design shifts, and scope changes.
• Responsible for providing detailed explanation for any unresolved issues.
• Solicits and coordinates supplier Design for Manufacturability (DFM) recommendations as required.
• Interprets supplier feedback to provide guidance on product/process optimization.
• Manages supplier selection in alignment with commodity management.
• Accountable for supplier negotiations and risk mitigation as required.
• Guides qualification processes of components and suppliers (DFM, FOT, PPAP, APQP).
• Works with NPI buyers and suppliers to optimize inventory.
• Leads cost reduction projects and supply chain risk mitigation.
• Leads identification and deployment of Jabil process improvements.
• Ensures compliance with safety, health, and security policies.
