Job Summary:
The Indirect Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for leading and managing strategic sourcing activities for indirect spend categories. This role involves identifying and implementing cost-effective procurement strategies, optimizing supplier relationships, and ensuring non-product-related expenditures align with business goals. The position requires strong analytical skills, market knowledge, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management:
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for categories such as IT, marketing services, travel, HR, facilities management, etc.
- Lead supplier selection and negotiation processes, ensuring optimal pricing, quality, and service levels.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships for continuous improvement and value generation.
Cost Optimization & Savings Initiatives:- Identify cost-saving opportunities through process improvements, supplier consolidation, and strategic negotiations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive cost reduction initiatives and meet savings targets.
Market Intelligence & Trend Analysis:- Monitor market conditions, industry trends, and supplier capabilities to inform sourcing strategies.
- Conduct market research to assess potential suppliers and opportunities for innovation and efficiency.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:- Partner with internal units (finance, legal, operations) to align sourcing strategies with business goals.
- Provide guidance on sourcing best practices and supplier performance.
Contract Management:- Negotiate and oversee contracts with suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and legal compliance.
Risk Management:- Assess and mitigate risks related to supply disruptions, supplier performance, and contracts.
- Develop contingency plans for critical indirect services.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting:- Track and report supplier and sourcing initiative performance, providing updates to leadership.
- Use data insights to evaluate and improve supplier performance.
Process Improvement & Best Practices:- Drive continuous improvement in sourcing processes for efficiency and transparency.
- Stay updated on sourcing, procurement technology, and industry trends.
Experience & Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related; Master’s or certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO 9001) are a plus.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in indirect strategic sourcing.
- Experience managing categories like IT, facilities, HR, capital equipment, supplies, and professional services.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
- Strong procurement, supply chain, and strategy development knowledge.
- Expertise in negotiation, contract management, and cost optimization.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in IT and office tools.
- Fluent in English; additional language skills (Spanish, French) are advantageous.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and adapt to industry and organizational changes.
