About the team

Procurement is part of Stripe Finance, overseeing the entire buying journey—from sourcing suppliers and renewing engagements to managing purchase orders, supplier payments, and Stripe's travel and expense programs. The team reviews contracts, conducts risk assessments, and onboards suppliers for secure payments.

We are building a world-class Strategic Sourcing & Category Management team to maximize value through supply optimization, negotiations, and supplier accountability. We seek a Strategic Sourcing Manager focused on technology procurement to help drive organizational transformation.

What you’ll do

You will establish trusted relationships across Stripe, ensuring active participation in strategic sourcing and procurement activities such as planning, sourcing strategies, RFx execution, supplier evaluation, contract negotiations, and continuous improvement. Your role will ensure procurement aligns with operational principles, fostering sustainable growth and ethical supplier relationships.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for technology, focusing on software, identifying opportunities for cost reduction, quality improvements, and efficiencies.
2. Lead supplier selection, assessment, and contract negotiations, ensuring compliance with Stripe policies and risk management protocols.
3. Conduct market research to inform category strategies and stay ahead of industry trends.
4. Lead competitive bidding and RFx processes, ensuring benchmarking across critical spend areas.
5. Support third-party risk programs and fiscal initiatives in procurement activities.
6. Achieve strategic sourcing goals, including cost savings and spend management, and implement process enhancements.
7. Evaluate existing suppliers, identify rationalization or RFx opportunities in partnership with business and finance teams.
8. Collaborate with internal teams to enhance procurement solutions and supplier management.
9. Participate in planning and budgeting to support strategic business goals.
10. Contribute to building and scaling the Strategic Sourcing & Category Management function recognized by Stripe.

Who you are

Minimum requirements include:

• At least 8 years of experience in indirect sourcing, procurement, or category management.
• Proven ability to develop and implement strategies in technology categories, especially software and SaaS.
• Strong negotiation skills with a track record of cost savings and value creation.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with supplier contracting and risk mitigation.
• Leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience partnering with cross-functional teams.

This role is remote, defined as being 35 miles or more from an office. You may work from home regularly, with occasional in-office meetings. Stripe does not cover relocation costs.
