Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of purchasing experience, advanced Excel skills, and a track record in leadership and negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Manage supplier relationships and identify opportunities to add value.
• Partner with Product Manager to manage full lifecycle from new products to sunsetting.
• Lead buying team and own metrics like fill rates and vendor scorecards.
• Enhance KPI reporting with a new BI tool.
• Monitor market conditions and supplier capabilities for risk mitigation.
• Analyze forecast processes and guide min/max levels for customers.
• Translate data into actionable recommendations and escalate when needed.
• Negotiate cost-effective supplier relationships.

• This is an onsite role in Farmers Branch, TX, Monday - Friday from 7 am - 4 pm**

Hi-Line is a nationwide distributor of over 100,000+ industrial aftermarket products across industries like transportation, aviation, facilities maintenance, aerospace, medical, military, marine, power generation, manufacturing, and heavy equipment.

This person should be a skilled professional who is comfortable working with executives at suppliers, able to lead a team, and analyze data to make decisions. We’re looking for a leader who can work effectively with various levels of the organization to get things done, loves learning, and can partner with our Suppliers to gain optimal quality, cost, and availability of products for our customers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage supplier relationships, develop strong relationships with key partners, and identify opportunities to add value.
• Partner with the Product Manager to build and execute the full lifecycle from adding new products to sunsetting discontinued products.
• Lead the buying team and own results such as fill rates, inventory purchases, part # set up/maintenance, discrepancy review, alt suppliers, vendor scorecards, etc.
• Enhance current KPI reporting via new BI tool.
• Monitor market conditions, supplier capabilities, and potential business risks, and be creative, proactive, and execution-oriented toward solving problems.
• Analyze current forecast process and give guidance on min/max levels to improve fill rates for customers.
• Translate data and analysis into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Ability to professionally escalates issues to get results.
• Negotiate cost effective relationships with key suppliers regarding pricing, terms, quality, lead time, etc.

Requirements

• 5+ years Purchasing experience
• Experience with 20k+ SKUs
• Distribution experience preferred
• Previous team management experience
• Advanced knowledge in Excel
• Superb leadership and communication skills
• Advanced ability to collaborate and negotiate
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking abilities
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Procurement Certifications preferred
• Willingness to travel to develop, promote, and maintain strategic sourcing relationships
