Job summary

Hi-Line, Inc. in Farmers Branch, TX, seeks a Strategic Sourcing Manager to lead supplier relationships, drive cost and quality improvements, and partner with Product Management on full lifecycle sourcing.

You will manage a buying team, enhance KPI reporting with a BI tool, analyze forecasts, negotiate with suppliers, travel as needed, and report to the VP of Operations & Supply Chain.

Qualifications

• 5+ years Purchasing experience.
• Experience with 20k+ SKUs.
• Distribution experience preferred.
• Previous team management experience.
• Advanced knowledge in Excel.
• Superb leadership and communication skills.
• Advanced ability to collaborate and negotiate.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Procurement Certifications preferred.
• Willingness to travel to develop, promote, and maintain strategic sourcing relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manage supplier relationships, develop strong relationships with key partners, and identify opportunities to add value.
• Partner with the Product Manager to build and execute the full lifecycle from adding new products to sunsetting discontinued products.
• Lead the buying team and own results such as fill rates, inventory purchases, part # set up/maintenance, discrepancy review, alt suppliers, vendor scorecards, etc.
• Enhance current KPI reporting via new BI tool.
• Monitor market conditions, supplier capabilities, and potential business risks, and be creative, proactive, and execution-oriented toward solving problems.
• Analyze current forecast process and give guidance on min/max levels to improve fill rates for customers.
• Translate data and analysis into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Ability to professionally elevate issues to get results.
• Negotiate cost effective relationships with key suppliers regarding pricing, terms, quality, lead time, etc.

Strategic Sourcing Manager

This is an onsite role in Farmers Branch, TX, Monday - Friday from 7 am - 4 pm
