Job summary

Stella-Jones seeks a Strategic Sourcing Manager in Lenexa, KS for hybrid onsite work. You will develop and implement indirect spend strategies, analyze data, manage supplier relationships, and ensure procurement compliance and sustainability initiatives.

The role is an individual contributor position within the Operational Innovation & Excellence Center (OIEC) with heavy emphasis on cost optimization, dashboard tooling, and KPI adoption. Travel about 30% across US/Canada.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of sourcing or procurement experience, preferably in manufacturing or industrial sectors.
• Proven experience in enterprise-level indirect spend management.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder-management skills with the ability to influence without authority.
• Demonstrated success driving change management and cross-functional collaboration.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
• Proficiency with SAP, Ariba, Power BI, and Excel preferred.
• Ability to travel across US and Canada up to 30%.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic sourcing: You will be the architect of the global sourcing strategy for indirect spend across the US and Canada.
• Develop multi-tiered sourcing strategies that mitigate risks, ensure business continuity and leverage supplier partnerships across the enterprise.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts and capacity to secure long-term cost and availability advantages.
• Implement standard work and sourcing KPIs that improve cost, lead time and supplier quality performance.
• Drive risk mitigation strategies addressing internal and external constraints, market volatility through supplier diversification.
• Support adoption of new reporting tools and data processes through training, documentation, and ongoing user support
• Lead change management efforts related to new suppliers, system enhancements, dashboards, and process improvements
• Ensure reporting solutions align with supply chain strategy, operational efficiency goals, and compliance requirements
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen data-driven decision-making across the supply chain organization
