Job summary

Principal Financial Group is seeking a Sourcing Consultant to join its Global Sourcing team in Des Moines, IA or a hybrid/in-office setup. You will lead end-to-end strategic sourcing, negotiate contracts, and collaborate with business partners to deliver solutions that meet customer needs.

The role requires 5+ years of relevant experience, strong knowledge of sourcing principles, and a proven ability to manage contracts and stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related experience demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
• Knowledge of and experience with strategic sourcing principles, supplier management, and contract negotiation. Experience supporting professional services categories is preferred
• Experience managing contracts and partnering with stakeholders to deliver sourcing outcomes

Responsibilities

• Coach and influence internal and external leaders and teams to promote effective strategies in category management and accomplish business objectives
• Collaborate with our leaders to deliver solutions for their business needs as we produce outcomes our customers love
• Support overall category management objectives
• Support internal compliance and supply chain policies, procedures, strategies, and guidelines
• Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing and supplier management activities for medium-to-high complexity third-party needs, including supply and demand planning, supplier selection, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management
• Analyze data to identify meaningful insights and support business decision-making
