Job summary

Principal Financial Group is seeking a Sourcing Consultant to join its Global Sourcing team in Des Moines, IA or a hybrid/in-office setup. You will lead end-to-end strategic sourcing, negotiate contracts, and collaborate with business partners to deliver solutions that meet customer needs.

The role requires 5+ years of relevant experience, strong knowledge of sourcing principles, and a proven ability to manage contracts and stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related experience demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
• Knowledge of and experience with strategic sourcing principles, supplier management, and contract negotiation. Experience supporting professional services categories is preferred
• Experience managing contracts and partnering with stakeholders to deliver sourcing outcomes

What You'll Do

You will have the opportunity to collaborate with business partners and suppliers to develop strategic consulting and professional services contracts and relationships.

Who You Are

• 5+ years of related experience (e.g., sourcing, supply chain management, contract negotiation, or contract law) demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
• Knowledge of and experience with strategic sourcing principles, supplier management, and contract negotiation. Experience supporting professional services categories is preferred
• Demonstrated experience managing contracts and partnering with stakeholders to deliver sourcing outcomes

Skills That Will Help You Stand Out

• Extensive experience negotiating professional services agreements
• Prior experience includes analyzing spending patterns, managing supplier relationships, tracking performance, reporting, and strategic planning
• Experience as a sourcing consultant supporting consulting, managed services, outsourced services, or other indirect procurement categories
• Experience with contingent workforce programs and staffing MSPs
• Interest in market intelligence and analytics within the professional services industry
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems and effectively collaborate with others to drive positive outcomes
• Strong oral and written communication skills

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

$89300 - $127000 / year

Salary Details

The following locations are examples of market-specific salary ranges across the two cities this position is open to.

• Des Moines, IA: $89,300 - $120,650 / year
• Charlotte, NC: $94,000 - $127,000 / year

Time Off Program

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.
