Job summary

Power Design Inc. in St. Petersburg, FL, seeks a Strategic Sourcing Analyst to support purchasing for engineering, estimating and operations teams. You’ll source fleet, tooling, electrical commodities, wiring, lighting, switchgear and generators; create bid events, e-sourcing and purchase orders.

You’ll report to a Procurement Category Manager, build strong supplier relationships, ensure timely bids and orders, and help improve procurement processes with data-driven insights and Excel reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Finance or a Technical field with 0-3 years’ experience.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills with willingness to negotiate with suppliers.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Outlook, and Intermediate to advanced skill level in Excel with data mining ability.
• Ability to multitask in a high volume, fast-paced work environment with firm deadlines.
• Working knowledge within the construction industry a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work with the procurement team, project management and suppliers to support material buyouts for various regions.
• Develop and maintain strong relationship with operations so bids and purchase orders are executed in a timely manner.
• Learn the procurement categories and provide guidance to all employees to adhere to our best practices and utilizing preferred suppliers.
• Review quotes for accuracy and work with suppliers to negotiate best pricing.
• Receive hands-on training from assigned mentor regarding procurement, category management and supplier negotiations.
• Support the bid process by creating e-sourcing events, updating bid templates and generating summary reports.
• Recommend best practices and processes for the department in order to improve efficiency.
• Compile, spend and bid data in excel and database tools for reporting.
• Continually help to improve and innovate on all processes, reporting, data collection or best practices.
