Job summary

Codal seeks a Solution Architect to translate client goals into practical end-to-end architectures across software, data, AI and DevOps. This hands-on, client-facing role involves design, prototyping, and presenting recommendations to executives, balancing cost, risk and maintainability.

You will mentor engineers, guide delivery teams, and evaluate new tools while collaborating with DevOps, data and cloud leads. Hybrid Chicago-area role with visa note.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of hands-on software or systems engineering experience.
• Ability to solve complex client problems that impact business.
• Proven ability to evaluate technology landscapes and make clear recommendations.
• Strong grounding across at least two: application architecture, systems design, data, AI/ML, DevOps.

Responsibilities

• Assess client tech landscape and rationalize pros/cons/risks.
• Design end-to-end architectures across application, data, AI/ML, DevOps.
• Present and defend architecture recommendations to stakeholders.
• Support discovery, planning, and pre-sales conversations with scoped approach.
• Create architecture decision records documenting trade-offs.
