Job summary

The Walton Personal Philanthropy Group is seeking a Social Impact Officer located in Denver, CO, to support the Principals’ social impact goals through program and grant management, partner relations, and impact evaluation. You will report to the Deputy Director of Philanthropy Services and work across initiatives to drive strategic philanthropy.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of work experience that includes direct work with social entrepreneurs and / or non-profit executives.
• Ability to analyze and synthesize quantitative and qualitative data.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Adaptive mindset and flexible disposition.
• Creative problem-solver with natural intellectual curiosity.
• Willingness to learn and dive into new context areas and social change vehicles.
• Strong time management and organizational skills including experience managing multiple project flows.
• Experience acting as a trusted advisor to clients, colleagues and consultants.
• Knowledge of financial and accounting principles (e.g., experience navigating financial statements, an organization’s budget).
• Experience developing grant proposals, managing grants and grantees, and evaluating impact.

Responsibilities

• Research needs in focus geographies and identify optimal partners for support.
• Develop and execute grants and performance-based contracts; conduct due diligence and monitor outcomes.
• Identify and track metrics to measure impact and enable mid-course corrections.
• Collaborate with Walton Enterprises departments to provide coordinated support.
• Serve as an expert resource on grantmaking practices and foundation administration.
• Ensure a positive client experience for Initiative Directors with proactive communication and issue resolution.
• Manage workflow and processes through clear, simple communication.
• Handle other projects and assignments as requested.
