Job summary

The Buell Foundation in Denver is seeking an Associate Program Officer to develop relationships with nonprofit organizations applying for funding and to participate in all aspects of the grant review process.

Reporting to the Director of Programs, you will analyze applications, conduct site visits, and help identify quality improvement initiatives while engaging in Foundation activities across Colorado.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of experience in nonprofit and/or philanthropic sector in Colorado.
• Knowledge in early childhood preferred.
• Familiarity with Colorado, especially rural communities.
• Experience in a small, mission-driven office.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with assigned nonprofits applying for funding.
• Complete all aspects of the grant review process.
• Contribute to programmatic ideas and participate in Foundation’s work.
• Review and analyze grant applications, conduct site visits, prepare evaluations.
• Work with grantees to identify quality improvement efforts and evaluations.
• Represent the Foundation with stakeholders and at meetings.
