Job summary

SCOR is seeking an experienced Senior Underwriter for property and facilities in the United States. You will support regional facultative offerings, originate placements with cedants and brokers, and collaborate with global teams to enhance profitability and market leadership.

The role requires 8+ years of U.S. facultative underwriting, strong negotiation skills, and deep knowledge of property risk, pricing, and regulatory considerations.

Qualifications

• Degree in insurance, risk management, math, engineering or science.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant U.S. facultative property underwriting experience.
• Proficiency in pricing, contracts governance, bordereaux analysis, and new business origination.
• Strong expertise in property lines, risk assessment, pricing and regulatory requirements.
• Experience building and steering a book of business through cycles.
• Understanding end-to-end underwriting processes and related considerations.
• Ability to work in a matrixed, international environment.
• Agile work style with a bias for action.

Responsibilities

• Strategic client engagement to originate placements that fit capacity and risk appetite.
• Collaborate with reinsurance and insurance colleagues to generate profitable business.
• Negotiate terms, pricing and conditions for facultative solutions.
• Manage and renew the portfolio, assess risk exposures and optimize capacity.
• Work with analytics teams to determine facultative needs based on exposure and loss scenarios.
• Maintain relations with cedants and brokers to showcase SCOR's market position.
• Ensure accurate deal documentation, reporting, and claims settlements.
