Job summary

SCOR US is seeking a lead underwriter for construction facultative reinsurance to drive regional growth, manage strategic client engagement with cedants and brokers, and collaborate with global SCOR teams.

You will lead origination, pricing, and portfolio optimization, maintaining relationships and ensuring profitability through strong risk assessment and market insight. Hybrid work in New York with relocation assistance and a focus on leadership and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 years of relevant industry experience in U.S. facultative construction underwriting.
• Deep expertise in construction lines, technical risk assessment, pricing, and U.S. regulatory requirements.
• Proven proficiency in rating methodologies for facultative construction business.
• Experience building and steering a book of business through market cycles.
• Strong negotiation, presentation and marketing capabilities.
• Ability to collaborate within matrixed, international environments.
• Relocation assistance within the U.S. is available; must have work authorization.

• Analytics Discovery – work with risk modelling teams on exposure and loss scenarios.
• Client Management – maintain cedant and broker relationships and demonstrate value.
• Operational Excellence – ensure documentation, reporting, and claims process alignment.
• Compliance – adhere to governance and regulatory requirements.
• New Market Ideation – monitor market changes to optimize offerings and portfolio.
