April Housing, headquartered in Los Angeles, seeks a VP, Senior Counsel to lead the affordable housing practice, LIHTC knowledge, and preservation transactions. Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school with active U.S. bar status.
• 7–10 years in affordable housing, real estate, partnership, or tax practice.
• Significant LIHTC transaction experience.
• Strong knowledge of partnerships, ownership transfers, regulatory agreements, and financing.
• Experience negotiating complex real estate deals.
• Ability to provide practical, business-focused legal advice.
• Preferred: experience with institutional investors, syndicators, or owners of affordable housing.
• Knowledge of HUD programs and multi-state regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead LIHTC resyndications, recapitalizations, and preservation transactions.
• Advise on transaction structuring, tax credits, bond financing, and partnerships.
• Support acquisitions, dispositions, GP buyouts, and LP transfers.
• Draft, review, and negotiate purchase agreements, financing, and development docs.
• Coordinate with outside counsel during transaction execution.
• Advise on regulatory compliance and portfolio governance.
