Job summary

ProStaff Workforce Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer (Electronic Components) in Richardson, TX. This hands-on role focuses on strategic sourcing, supplier management, and cost reduction to keep manufacturing operations running smoothly.

The ideal candidate will own commodity strategy, negotiate terms, and manage end-to-end purchasing, from PO placement to supplier performance and risk mitigation. This is a direct-hire, onsite opportunity with DoE pay expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, supply chain, or similar technical discipline, or equivalent progressive purchasing experience.
• 7–10 years of buying experience at a manufacturing company with electronic components.
• Proven ability to develop commodity/category sourcing strategy, not just execute transactions.
• Proven ability to negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to hit cost targets.
• Strong command of total cost concepts (total landed cost, cost reduction, etc.).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence across stakeholders.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Own your commodity strategy by defining sourcing approaches balancing cost, quality, lead time and supply risk.
• Place and manage purchase orders against MRP; manage requisitions and PO changes; expedite deliveries when needed.
• Negotiate favorable pricing, terms, and contracts for products, tooling and services.
• Develop and execute strategies to control total landed cost and reduce costs.
• Manage supplier relationships and monitor delivery and quality performance.
• Mitigate supply disruption risks and manage EOL transitions when required.
• Support continuous improvement of procurement processes and provide guidance to teammates.
