Job summary

Cardinal Health seeks a Director, Security Architecture to establish and lead the security architecture strategy, standards, and design practices across the organization. You will align security architecture with business priorities, risk management, and enterprise GTBS strategies, guiding investments and embedding security throughout the development lifecycle.

You will lead governance, reviews, and tooling optimization, ensuring scalable and resilient technology solutions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, security architecture, or information security with focus on enterprise architecture and solution design.
• Deep expertise in security architecture frameworks, secure design principles, and enterprise technology environments.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001) and regulatory requirements.
• Experience leading architecture reviews, defining standards, and guiding secure solution development.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in leadership roles overseeing security architecture or engineering teams.
• Experience in regulated industries (aviation, financial services, healthcare, government).
• Advanced certifications such as CISSP/CCSP/SABSA/TOGAF.
• Experience with cloud security architecture, DevSecOps, and modern app development practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop enterprise security architecture strategy aligned with cybersecurity, risk management, and business objectives.
• Establish governance frameworks for secure design, technology selection, and deployment.
• Define target-state architecture and long-term roadmap with leadership.
• Advise leadership on security architecture priorities, risks, and investments.
• Oversee architecture review processes and ensure security risks are addressed prior to implementation.
• Provide approval and validation of security architecture decisions, including exception handling.
• Drive consistency in architecture review practices across teams.
• Provide proactive security guidance during solution design and development.
• Embed security requirements early in the development lifecycle with development/design teams.
• Lead M&A cybersecurity strategy and integration activities.
