Job summary

Gilder Search Group's client, a global recycling company, seeks a Scrap Buyer to purchase ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal across the Tampa Bay area. The role focuses on developing supplier relationships, negotiating pricing, and sourcing materials to meet territory goals.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of scrap metal purchasing experience, is bilingual in Spanish and English, and can manage supplier networks, assess metal grades, and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience purchasing or selling scrap metal in recycling/metals industries.
• Experience as Scrap Buyer or similar role negotiating scrap purchases.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English.

Responsibilities

• Purchase ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal from yards, demolition contractors, auto recyclers, and metal dealers.
• Negotiate pricing based on market conditions and company guidelines.
• Develop supplier relationships and identify new material sources.
• Prospect and develop new scrap suppliers via field visits, cold calling, and referrals.
• Maintain relationships with yards, contractors, and metal dealers; monitor market trends.
