Job summary

DeKalb County School District seeks an experienced Manager of School Nutrition to lead the School Nutrition Services department. You will supervise a team, oversee procurement, budgeting, and meal preparation while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

The role requires a strong background in institutional food service, nutrition-related training, and certification. The district emphasizes adherence to federal, state, and local guidelines and effective resource management.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED supplemented by education/training in Food and Nutrition, Food Service Management or closely related area is required.
• Minimum three (3) years institutional food service or closely related experience is required.
• ServeSafe Certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment and maintained during employment.
• Tuberculosis screening completed within 1 year of hire and annually thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Directs and manages the school nutrition program and staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Oversees budget, cost containment, and department staffing.
• Manages food and supply procurement for the program and maintains inventory controls.
• Directs meal preparation activities to meet quality standards and safety guidelines.
• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal health regulations and sanitation standards.
