Allentown City School District seeks a Chief Financial Officer to supervise district-wide financial operations, budgeting, and accountability. The role leads procurement, tax collection, payroll, and capital planning while ensuring accurate records and compliance with school accounting standards.

The CFO partners with executive leadership to optimize resources, implement critical policies, and drive district-wide financial goals with integrity and transparency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration/management, accounting, or related field.
• MBA or CPA preferred.
• Minimum five years experience as a business manager or related role.
• Knowledge of current laws and regulations relating to public school accounting.
• Evidence of school and/or business leadership experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Executive Core Qualifications, including the ability to lead change and achieve district goals.
• Demonstrated skills in computer technology and financial/HR software.

Responsabilités

• Supervises system-wide business affairs and fiscal management.
• Collaborates with Human Resources to support employees.
• Attends Board meetings and works sessions; submits required financial reports.
• Performs debt service, budgeting, and capital fund management.
• Maintains records of district financial affairs and ensures fiscal accountability.
• Oversees payroll operations and purchasing processes.
• Acts as Board Secretary and Records Retention Officer.

Formation

Bachelor's in business/management or related field

MBA or CPA preferred

Five+ years as business manager or related role

Knowledge of public school accounting laws/regulations

Executive leadership and coalition building

Strong communication skills

Experience with financial/HR software

Satisfactory clearances (Acts 34/114/151)
