Job summary

Dallas Independent School District is seeking a Buyer for a 226‑day term. The role involves reviewing requests for proposals, developing sourcing strategies, and guiding bid evaluations to recommendations that meet district needs.

You will coordinate with departments, oversee purchase orders, and support M/WBE goals in a public-school purchasing environment. The position emphasizes compliance with state and district purchasing laws and requires strong communication and spreadsheet analysis

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred.
Two years of indirect experience required.
Three years of related experience preferred, including institutional/government or school district purchasing.

Responsibilities

Review and write RFPs/bids for products and services, ensuring compliance with district and federal requirements.
Identify and develop sources of supply; schedule bid/proposal conferences.
Lead evaluation of proposals using Excel tabulations and prepare recommendations.
Assist with negotiation of purchase agreements to ensure quality, delivery, and best price.
Edit requisitions; coordinate requirements with departments.
