Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Space Systems Engineer to provide onsite SETA services for a SAIC Prime Program at the NRO in Chantilly, VA. You will coordinate across engineering divisions to acquire satellite systems and support planning, execution, monitoring, and oversight within a government/contractor team.

The role requires TS/SCI with Poly, strong system engineering experience, and leadership abilities, enabling effective communication with government and industry partners in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 9+ years of experience; Master's 7+ years; PhD/JD 4+ years.
• Experience in systems integration and systems engineering.
• Experience using SE processes, methods, and tools for satellite systems.
• Experience with space radar payload design, development, manufacturing, and testing.
• Experience with radar system design, operations, and data processing.
• Notable experience with large systems acquisition.
• Effective communication, coordination and customer engagement skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, leadership, team building and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to be effective in a government/contractor team environment.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and team environment.
• Self-motivated professional capable of executing tasks with minimal guidance.

Responsibilities

• Develop understanding of system level requirements and design features that satisfy them.
• Develop documents and briefings to communicate work status; briefs to government and industry.
• Support full lifecycle engineering reviews to ensure designs meet specs and requirements.
• Review CDRL deliverables for content, accuracy, and sufficiency.
• Participate in technical interchange meetings between developers and contractors.
• Evaluate vendor proposals and review technical reports, design artifacts, and program plans.
• Oversee configuration management of program documentation.
• Serve as a system engineering liaison to other divisions in the SPO.
