A&E Machine Shop is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented Sales Estimator to drive growth through accurate project cost assessments and proactive business development. You will prepare bids for welding, fabrication, and machining, while building long-term customer relationships and engaging with clients and project teams on site.

The role emphasizes developing competitive proposals, interpreting blueprints, and leveraging estimating software to optimize costs.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of estimating experience in welding, fabrication, machining, or construction‑related environments.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets and estimating software tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for welding and fabrication projects.
• Review RFQs, project plans, specifications, and blueprints.
• Collaborate with clients, project managers, shop personnel, and subcontractors.
• Develop detailed cost proposals covering labor, materials, equipment, overhead, and subcontracted services.
• Develop new leads and business opportunities while maintaining existing relationships.
• Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors and subcontractors.
• Track bid outcomes and improve estimating accuracy.
