Job summary

City of Georgetown is seeking an Occupational Safety Specialist to plan, organize, and support development and evaluation of safety, workers' compensation, auto, and liability insurance programs.

Candidate will conduct safety training, inspections, investigations, and maintain safety plans while coordinating with staff and management to ensure compliance with OSHA and state regulations.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related discipline with 3+ years field experience, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of OSHA and safety regulatory requirements and state/federal laws.
• Ability to plan, organize, and evaluate safety and risk programs.
• Experience in safety training, inspections, and incident investigations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for workers' compensation, property and liability claims and processing.
• Coordinate safety trainings, inspections, and investigations of concerns and incidents.
• Maintain and update the safety and occupational health plan documentation.
• Assist in drug/alcohol testing coordination and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare safety correspondence and training materials.
