Job summary

Georgetown University seeks an Occupational Safety Manager to develop and oversee comprehensive safety programs for Planning and Facilities Management. You will lead hazard identification, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance across campus construction, maintenance, and operations.

The role requires five years of related experience, expertise in OSHA regulations, and a proactive approach to safety training and program development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Safety, Safety Management, Construction Management, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health and Safety, Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Requires at least five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in occupational safety, safety program management, construction safety, industrial safety, environmental health and safety, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA regulations, hazard identification, risk assessment methodologies, incident investigation techniques, and safety program implementation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain occupational safety programs and written procedures (LOTO, Confined Space Entry, Fall Protection, PPE, etc.).
• Conduct inspections, audits, and assessments to identify hazards and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Lead safety training for employees, supervisors, and contractors; create educational materials and maintain training records.
• Investigate occupational injuries, near misses, and incidents; perform root-cause analyses and implement corrective actions.
• Review contractor safety plans and ensure safety requirements are integrated across construction and operations.
