Job summary

Mastercard is seeking a Vice President, Strategic Risk to lead the Enterprise Risk Management function. You will provide independent risk perspectives, executive challenge and decision support across major strategic initiatives, including new products, acquisitions and partnerships.

Qualifications

• Advanced expertise in strategy, management consulting or enterprise risk management in financial services, technology or related industries.
• Proven ability to advise senior executives on complex strategic decisions with executive-level influence.
• Experience assessing risk in new product development, strategic planning, M&A, and enterprise decision-making.
• Ability to synthesize complex information into clear executive recommendations with strong communication skills.
• Ability to lead and develop high-performing teams across functions, regions and disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic decision support as Mastercard's lead risk advisor on significant decisions.
• Lead risk assessments of new products, platforms and business models, including emerging tech and ecosystems.
• Oversee risk due diligence for mergers, acquisitions and partnerships.
• Assess emerging trends and disruptions to inform risk frameworks.
• Build trusted relationships and present clear risk perspectives to senior management and the Board.
• Develop a high-performing Strategic Risk team and scalable methodologies.
