Job summary

United Water Conservation District is seeking a Risk and Safety Manager to lead district-wide safety, security, and risk management programs. You will develop policies, ensure CAL-OSHA and OSHA compliance, and coordinate training and emergency preparedness initiatives.

The role requires experience in safety/risk management, program development, and strong communication skills to advise department managers and staff across facilities within the district.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and minimum of two years in safety, security, and/or risk management.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree is preferable.
• Certified Safety Professional or HR certifications desirable.
• Ability to read and interpret complex documents; strong written and verbal communications.

Responsibilities

• Develops and enforces safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules.
• Serves as program manager for safety, occupational health, and security standards.
• Designs and conducts employee training on safety, security, and emergency response.
• Conducts periodic safety audits and inspections of District facilities.
• Coordinates workers' compensation processes and insurer interactions.
• Maintains safety and security policy manuals and emergency plans.
