Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Risk Manager to join the Card Risk Team. You will apply risk management, project management, and analytical skills to top risk initiatives, partnering with executives to identify and mitigate risks across Channels and Shared Services.

You will lead risk-related projects, implement automated monitoring, and ensure regulatory alignment while delivering value to the business and maintaining stability and profitability.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification.
• At least 3 years of payments operations experience or risk management.
• At least 3 years of stakeholder relationship management.
• 5+ years of Project Management experience leading cross functional projects or programs in Risk.
• 5+ years of Financial Services risk management experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop well-designed products, processes, marketing, and supporting technologies and implement risk management practices; support business partners on risk/return trade-off decisions.
• Lead risk-related initiatives and process/control overhauls, transforming manual detective frameworks into automated, full-file, real-time monitoring solutions.
• Stay abreast of regulatory changes and lead mitigation efforts across impacted areas.
• Lead ad-hoc projects to improve processes or control environment to mitigate risks.
• Participate in risk forums and business reporting routines and contribute to continuous improvement of risk management practices.
• Utilize advanced data analytics to perform deep-dive assessments, connect root causes to broader impacts.
• Ground strategic decisions in data-driven analytics to identify and mitigate potential risks.
• Set and deliver on our well-managed agenda.
• Drive end-to-end execution of PLAs and RCSAs, ensuring robust control environments.
