Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Risk Manager within its Energy & Resources group. The role focuses on identifying, assessing, and managing risk across projects in North America and export markets, providing leadership on high‑risk programs, and advancing the PRR practice with practical tools and training.

You will report to the BOU Commercial & Risk Director, act as a trusted advisor to project teams and leadership, and ensure a proactive risk culture while supporting governance across pursuit

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or related technical field is required.
• PM Certification, risk management certification and/or Professional Licensure is preferred.
• A minimum of 15 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience; experience with Alternate Project Delivery (APD) or large heavy civil projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation of PRR practice for E&R, including governance activities and supervision of the E&R Risk Manager.
• Attend and lead Risk Manager roles on BOURC and ELRC reviews for large, complex projects.
• Conduct quarterly audits of projects that completed BOURC reviews to discuss risk mitigation with PMs and PIRs.
• Serve as liaison between E&R BOU and ELRC to improve PRR practice and risk management.
• Coordinate with other Business Lines to drive consistent PRR implementation and participate in reviews on request.
• Develop and implement procedures to verify governance reviews for large engagements and manage their execution.
