Job summary

Rio Grande Credit Union in Albuquerque, NM seeks a Chief Risk Officer to lead enterprise risk management, regulatory compliance, and loss prevention programs, protecting assets, operations, members, and reputation while aligning with strategic goals.

The CRO will coordinate risk framework, oversee BSA/AML, fraud risk, vendor risk, internal controls, and regulatory exams, reporting to the CEO and guiding executive leadership and the Board.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years related experience.

Responsibilities

• Leads enterprise risk management programs and develops risk assessments, policies, and controls.
• Oversees compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and guidance.
• Oversees BSA/AML/OFAC compliance programs, including risk assessments and monitoring.
• Provides executive oversight of fraud prevention, detection, and mitigation strategies.
• Manages legal matters, claims, and outside counsel relationships.
• Designs risk reporting and analytics for executive leadership and the Board.
