Job summary

Charles Schwab is seeking a Business Development Consultant to drive retirement plan opportunities through proactive prospecting and strategic engagement with plan sponsors, consultants, and advisors.

The role partners with external sales teams and internal partners to build a robust sales pipeline and advance opportunities through the cycle, leveraging industry knowledge and CRM to track progress and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 2–7 years in retirement plan or financial services sales.
• Proven outbound prospecting and pipeline development.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new retirement or equity plan opportunities within assigned territories and market segments.
• Research target companies and competitive positioning to build a qualified pipeline.
• Coordinate and lead external prospect discovery meetings and internal kickoff calls.
• Support field sales with opportunity strategy and demonstrations.
• Maintain accurate opportunity records in Salesforce and monitor pipeline metrics.
