Job summary

HDR is seeking a strategic Data Steward to shape how data is defined, used, and reused across the Resources Business Group. You will simplify data, increase usefulness, and connect data practices to HDR’s business objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, data science, business, computer science, or related discipline or equivalent related experience.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in a related field.
• Experienced in development and management of diverse teams.
• Ability to work cooperatively with other leaders, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers.
• Committed to quality, improvement, HDR values.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the RBG data point of contact and leverage SME expertise from our Business Classes and Practices.
• Develop and maintain data glossaries for key engineering and technical terms with business context.
• Build alignment around data processes, priority, and expected use via your technical network.
• Promote consistent, responsible use of technical data, including access, data quality, format, and reuse.
• Support governance of externally sourced datasets (access, approvals, inventory awareness, storage, lifecycle).
• Lead a RBG SME network with HDR Data Operations to align practices and share lessons learned.
• Promote data fluency across the RBG.
• Communicate and collaborate with other BG Data Stewards, BG and Enterprise Data Science Teams, and Enterprise Data Operations staff.
